With everything that's happening around the world today, we can find ourselves in a place where we are battling so many different emotions in our hearts. How do we deal with the raging waves of the heart?
Proverbs 4: 23 tells us this: "Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it."
The instruction is for us to make sure that we guard our heart. But how do we do this?
We do so by allowing God to give us the protection strategy through His word. He is the only One who can help us protect our hearts so that the evil emotions and mindsets are no able to destroy us. We guard our hearts by allowing the word of God to be the compass which guides us in situations that would want to lead us to anger, resentment, jealousy, envy, lack of hope, despair and to so many other dark places.
